ANCOATS
Ancoats is the go-to for easy, laid-back days. With a soft silhouette and relaxed build, it's the pair you reach for when comfort is non-negotiable. Many of the leathers are sourced from Charles F Stead — the much-loved Leeds tannery — and come in a variety of tones and shades, making Ancoats a staple from weekday to weekend.
DIDSBURY
Didsbury lands somewhere in the middle. Inspired by classic 80s gum-sole trainers, it brings a familiar nostalgia with a sharper, more considered finish. They are handmade in England and are available in all three of our signature leathers: Caramel, Mole and Walnut.
MADE WITH STEADS IN MIND
A large portion of our sneakers and trainers are available in leathers supplied by our favourite tannery, Charles F Stead. Based in Leeds, they've been producing some of the finest leathers in the world for over a century, and their rugged, characterful, and endlessly versatile hides are a natural fit for our sneakers — pairing perfectly as a sidecar to a pair of boots in the same leather for those who like to keep things cohesive.
Sitting as a firm favourite amongst our customers are our ‘Signature Leathers’ - the colours you’ll find across the ranges in anything from casual sneakers to formal shoes. Our Caramel colourway - made exclusively for LANX - leads the way for our signature leathers, and has fast become the most popular leather across all styles, including our Ancoats and Didsbury sneakers.
Brand new to the lineup is Ancoats and Didsbury in Walnut, another LANX signature leather offering a warm, casual, and distinctive tone that slots effortlessly into any wardrobe. A fresh addition well worth getting acquainted with.
SNEAKERS OR TRAINERS?
Our sneakers have been a casual staple in our men’s and women’s collections for a few years now. When we first launched the range, we were presented with the question… do we call them sneakers or trainers? The decision was fairly easy, in our eyes, as the styles of casual shoes we wanted to produce weren’t sporty or for running, but more casual, fashion-focused and laid-back. So, rightly or wrongly, ‘sneaker’ is the term we went for.
We’ve since launched a style we consider to be a trainer, which was our recent collaboration with WALSH, the Bromley. Made in Bolton and inspired by WALSH’s performance heritage, it’s still fashion-focused with a sportier design and sleeker shape.
Regardless of what you call it, the relaxed build of Ancoats and Didsbury are constructed with the same attention to detail in the materials, fit, and versatility. The colour palettes across the range keep things simple: understated neutrals and proven classics that pair with any Spring/Summer wardrobe rotation. All made in England, and all built to be worn.
